Wine & Cheeses of Loire Valley

Loire Valley Region     <   >

More than 800Km long, the Loire Valley winery road will bring you through more than 60 vineyards, or “Appellations controlees”. The originality and uniqueness of all Loire Valley wines lies in the fact that for the most part they are made from a single grape variety. Chenin, Cabernet and Gamay wines are made in the Anjou area; Saumur, Touraine Sauvignon and Pinot Noir in the Touraine and Centre areas, and there are several others, Grolleau, Pinot Meunier, Pineau d’Aunis and Romorantin to name a few. You are guaranteed a warm welcome at these easily accessible cellars. Take the time to learn all about the right cheeses to pair with the wines you have just discovered. Spend half a day strolling through the local market, tasting several local cheeses.
